The problem in my life, and as I see it in other people’s lives, is not the absence of knowing what to do, but the absence of doing it.

Ata Hassani, Everyday Hero

We all have an idea of what we want to accomplish in life.  For the most part we know what to do to achieve our goals and dreams. We say we know, for example: we know what it takes to lose weight. Eat the right foods and exercise. So; how come we still don’t do it even if we know how?

The most successful people are the ones who realize that they don’t know it all! These individuals educate and challenge themselves; most importantly they understand that it takes time and commitment to achieve more.

We recognize Ata Hassani, as this months “Everyday Hero” and as someone who was willing to put time and effort in developing himself personally and professionally, to support his dream of having an extraordinary life!!

Ata, has lived in several areas of the US, and finally settled in the state of California, where he’s lived since 1990 and is involved in the financial industry. He owns and operates a Financial Planning company as well as a Real Estate and Mortgage Brokerage firm since 1998. Overall life has been good for Ata. He’s always had a good business, but knew deep down he wanted more and didn’t know quite how to achieve that on his own.

Ata is someone who has always believed in education “You have to be willing to learn”. “You have to be willing to keep looking at what is available, what else you can do, because if it is left up to us, as human beings we will not do what it takes. We lose our focus so easily, because we are lazy,” says Ata. This recognition Ata had of himself and others, was the first step!

The second step was participating in personal and professional development courses. Ata’s long time involvement in the study of transformation, taught him about his belief system and the relationship he had to himself and others. “Things you learn go away if you do not keep them in practice”, says Ata. Being accountable and responsible to maintain what he learned was difficult.

Making the decision to be coached personally was inevitable. “My coach was someone who held me to account for what I said I wanted”, “Left up to me, I wouldn’t have done anything different”. Growing his business meant giving up his arrogance, regrets and complaints. “I was a silent complainer, beating myself up, when I messed up and that way of being was not working. I was becoming angry and bitter”, says Ata. Coaching taught me how to be responsible for my own thoughts, actions and practices.

Creating new structures and systems moved his business forward. Through the coaching process Ata became someone who recognized the value of practicing integrity, did what he said he was going to do, and stopped making himself wrong. He recognized that the universe does not owe us anything and that we are the only ones who can make ourselves successful. That involves commitment, effort and giving up that you KNOW! You cannot do it alone!

The circumstances in life no longer affect Ata; talk of how the economy is going down, increasing fuel costs, high cost of housing and supposedly the slow down in Real Estate Sales has not interrupted Ata’s business.  Consistently implementing the Coaching has increased sales and moved forward the plans to relocate his office.

Developing new practices and creating new ideas is not hard if you know where to look for the support. Education is the key. In order to have that extraordinary life, you have to give up being ordinary. If you do not have a Coach to support your goals and dreams, TAKE IT ON!
